Action Points

Action Points, or AP, represent the character's energy and ability to perform actions, such as moving, attacking, or searching. If the character runs out of Action Points, or lets their Action Points become negative, he or she is exhausted and must rest until they have accumulated more.

Action Points regenerate at the rate of 1AP per 15 minutes. You can also consume a Dose of Amphetamines to recover 1AP, but you lose accuracy with weapons from becoming Twitchy.

Most actions(movement, regular attacking, searching, hiding) take 1 Action Point to perform. Some advanced actions, such as crafting, surgery and crossing chains, require multiple AP, and will allow you to get "negative AP". No AP-requiring actions may be performed until you have reached "positive AP" again.

All characters begin with a maximum of 50 AP. This limit is raised by 1AP for every level past level 10, up to a maximum of 71AP at level 30. Once you have reached your maximum AP, any AP regenerated through time are "lost" and cannot be regained. Consumption of Amphetamines will allow you to go above this limit, however.
