Stevie Wonder

  • A whole slew of new anti-zerg measures.
  • Angels using unholy weapons now take damage and a morality shift.
  • Demons using holy weapons now take damage and a morality shift.
  • Activating invisiblity was cost 2 MP more than it should have.
  • Enchanted items appearing as enchanted to non-SM people in crafting menus
  • Double death effect when APing out over the void while flying.
  • Various Defiler and DO touch attacks were not removing as much morality as they should.
  • Advocates being hurt by hellfired weapons
  • Bug involving enchantments and nexus affinity (throwing error even if you had enough MP in some instances, but not all)
  • Changes to the scratchpad were dissappearing if you clicked another tab.
  • People were recovering AP while in the water using SotC.
  • Weird MP expiry issue with SotW and Blood Frenzy
  • Weird message results when attacking your own pets and missing with spells.
  • Dealing 0 damage still gave you the message that you'd done x points due to factional control.
  • Agony Curse was bringing people into negative MP; fixed.
  • Absolute, total goofage with AP and MP costs for repairing and improving items.
  • Corrode Claws was working with any weapon.
  • Life/Soul Vampire were working on flying targets if the character was not flying.

  • It was possible to repair/craft bows and arrows in the water.

  • 500 error on doors w/chainsaws or empty weapons.
  • Potion of Strength not affecting melee weapons.

  • Angel's Tears are now able to be used if you're at full health but poisoned or otherwise afflicted.

  • Damage types and soaks now appear in spell attack messages.
  • Dying from cigarettes now tells people around you. For real.
  • Dying from minor poison now tells people around you. For real.
  • Divine Armor appearing on fallen Paladins.
  • Poison applied after death (as the killing blow) did not dissappear on the death of the character.
  • Agony Curse was still dealing damage even if the character was immune to the type of damage that would cause the tick.
  • Bats flying over water were costing 1 AP/square
  • Issue with teleporting to a location (while inside) that had an inside ward that would prevent you from moving there, even though you always appear outside.
  • Various toggle powers didn't cost any AP to turn off, but you couldn't do it unless you had an AP anyway.
  • No more names equal to " ".
  • It now tells you if the guy you just attacked from hiding had seen you or not.
  • Misleading MP cost on repair magic items listed (cost is per step, not actual).
  • Demons dying from Angel's Tears now tell people they died.
  • There were no XP notices for repairing doors or power.
  • Incorrect amount of XP granted for sabotoging generators (was awarding 20, should have been 25).
  • Text for "Fire Resistance" was misleading.
  • Killing yourself by using an aligned weapon now gives out a message to local characters, informing them of your untimely, self-inflicted demise.
  • Exploit with Wandering Way.
  • Sucking people with dark heart when they had negative MP was bad.
  • The following skills were working incorrectly while the character was flying:
    • Surgery
    • Infusion
    • Tap Ley Line
    • Meditation
    • Shepherd Heal
    • Energize
    • Transcribe Spell
  • The following were incorrectly tripping the "Patio Party" timer:

Slayer

[edit] Map Changes

  • Rebuilt all the location, stronghold, infusion, and portal icons.
    • Added a few new location icons.
    • Portal icons now have a color coding as to their plane of destination if you have sense magic.
    • Infusion icons have changed, especially if you have Psychometry.
      • Locations infused to the Divine Army now use a yellow icon.
      • Locations infused to the Infernal Horde now use a red icon.
      • Locations infused to your own faction now use a purple icon.
      • Evil factions (that aren't yours) are now black.
      • Good factions (that aren't yours) are now white.
      • All infusion icons that aren't DA/IH/your own are now color coded to the politics of the faction.
  • If the character has the Engineering skill, the current location will also have a new icon, showing if it is (or is without) power.

[edit] Revenants

  • Implemented new tier 3 character class, the Revenant
    • Undead soldiers, combat oriented (vampiric).
    • Entrance: Myrmidon
    • Have innate weaknesses during the day (or Paradise) but innate bonuses during the night (or Stygia)
    • Implemented and created several new skills for them:

  • Pets will now attack other pets.
  • Pets now select a random target from their target lists each (they no longer swarm the same target).
    • This will likely result in a few pet buffs.
  • Added new pet aggressive mode, "Aggressive to Non-Faction Members"
    • It operates like you'd expect. Pets attack people who aren't members of your faction.

[edit] Character

  • Changed the way encumberance works:
    • Characters may now go above their maximum weight for inventories (like when searching).
    • However, if the character is above the maximum weight, they CANNOT do ANYTHING except drop items. They achieve an encumbered state. This is very obvious to the user.
    • No speaking. No crafting. No moving. No using items. No combat. Nothing but click that little "drop" button.

  • Implemented above skills for Revenants
  • Buffed Burning Aura:
    • The damage it inflicts on foes starts at a base of 4 and increases by 1 every two levels thereafter.
    • This gives it a maximum damage of 9 at level 30.
  • Implemented new Infernal Behemoth power, Roar
    • AoE effect, 70% base to hit, 2 AP, 10 MP
    • Demons are immune.
    • All affected by the roar suffer a -5% defense penalty for 5 minutes
  • Implemented new Nexus Champion power, Tattoo of the Soul
    • Child of Tattoo of Blood
    • Increases MP regeneration to 3/15 minutes instead of 1.
  • Added ability to Lockpicking:
    • For 5 AP, the character may create a set of lockpicks.
  • Added ability to Medicine:
    • For 7 AP, the character may create a First Aid Kit, provided the character is inside a Hospital
    • If the character also has Surgery, this AP cost is reduced to 5 AP.
  • Buffed Surgery:
    • Increased the number of hit points healed without a FAK to 15 (was 10).
    • For 10 AP, the character may create a Surgeon's Kit, provided the character is inside a Hospital
  • Added ability to Engineering
  • Modified Advanced Hide:
    • Reduced attack penalty for people with advanced hide from -20 to -10
    • Increased bonus damage for people with advanced hide from 5 points to 8 points.
  • Buffed Stepping of the World Gate
    • Void Walkers with this ability may now simply choose to step to other planes at will - but at a cost of Magic Points.
    • Stepping to a random spot in the current zone costs 5 MP.
    • Stepping to a random spot in a different zone costs 10 MP.
    • You can step from indoors or outdoors, but you will always appear outdoors.
    • You will only appear on a valid spawn point.
    • This skill is unique in that it is possible to step from a location in one plane to a location in another that has a ward that would normally prevent entrance to the Void Walker.
  • Buffed Corrode Claw:
    • Characters with this skill now do 1.5 times normal damage when attacking a ward
    • Characters with this skill now do 2 times normal damage when attacking a barricade
    • Characters with this skill now do 2 times normal damage when attacking a door
  • Buffed the hell out of Strength:
    • Skill now interacts/stacks with Structural Engineering:
      • If the engineer has Strength, he can erect 15 HP of barricade (instead of 10) for 2 AP
      • Removing barricades is now 10 HP (instead of just 5) for 1 AP
    • Skill now interacts/stacks with Swimming
      • If you have the skill, it's 1 AP to move through water instead of 2.
    • Skill now grants a +2 damage bonus when used with bows
    • Skill now grants a +1 damage bonus when used with thrown weapons
  • Implemented new Dark Oppressor skill: Agony Curse
    • This is a vile, hellish skill.
    • HTH touch attack, 10 MP.
    • Victim loses 1 MP per action.
    • Lasts 12 hours or until death (or cured by Absolve Suffering or Angel's Tears
    • Victim cannot be healed by any means while cursed.
    • Victim has -10% attack penalty.
    • Victim takes extra damage every time they are hurt (1/3/6, depending on tier).
      • DO gains experience points for this extra damage.
  • Implemented new skill for Dark Oppressors, Infernal Behemoths, and Wyrm Masters: Caustic Horns
    • Innate horn/gore attack.
    • 7 dmg, piercing.
    • 25% chance to inflict a minor poison on target.
  • Implemented new Shepherd skill, Absolve Suffering:
    • 5 MP, can be used on target or self.
    • Removes all debuffing status effects from target (weaken, agony curse, poison, etc.)
  • Implemented new Wyrm Master skill, Exoskeletal Armor:
    • Innate armor.
    • 7 points of soak to bludgeon, slashing, ballistic, piercing.
    • 4 points of soak to fire and cold.
  • Implemented new Wyrm Master skill, Translucency:
    • Grants innate +5% defense bonus
    • Grants innate +20% hide bonus
  • Modified Cloak of Steel:
    • Soak bonus reduced to 10 points (was 15)
    • Applies a +8 HtH damage bonus (fists, etc.)
    • Removed the per-ap magic point cost (now only costs 1 MP/minute)
  • Implemented new Lightspeaker skill, Caretaker's Blessing
    • Permanent, innate.
    • Decrease the cost of rejuvenating any pet by 50%.
  • Implemented new skill for Lightspeakers and Advocates: Martyr's Death
    • Upon the death of the LS or Advocate, the location is given a 20 point infusion.
  • Implemented new Nexus Champion skill, Tattoo of Balance
    • Grants innate, morality based damage bonus.
    • The closer to 0 the character's morality, the higher the damage bonus.
    • +1 at 11 to 19/-11 to -19; +2 at 6 to 10/-6 to -10; +3 at 1 to 5/-1 to -5; +4 at exactly 0.
  • Implemented new Lich skill, Horrid Enslavement
    • Child of Animate Corpse
    • Characters killed by the zombies under the liches control will immediately rise as zombies themselves, under the control of the lich.
    • These are "free" summons.
  • Implemented new Lich skill, Vestige of the Wraith
    • Flight skill. Summons ghosts to carry you around.
  • Implemented new Lightspeaker skill, Heart Light
    • Child of Summon Aethersprite
    • Doubles healing power of aethersprites (same MP cost to 'sprite) (20 pts vs. 10).

[edit] Item

  • Towels now do something (not much, though).
  • Added a newspaper article.
  • Increased the damage values for heavy items across the board.
  • Angel's Tears now cure Agony Curse
  • Lowered find rates for First Aid Kits and Angel's Tears
  • Added a new type of invisibility potion.
  • Created Potion of Flying.
  • It is now possible to find spells outside of books in certain locations.
  • Renamed "Healing Potion" to "Potion of Healing"

  • Raised the cost of casting AoE spells (even from scrolls) to 3 AP.
  • All MP costs are now listed in pull downs taking into account Nexus Affinity
  • All damages are now listed in pull downs taking into account Nexus Empowerment
  • For attack spells, the character's attack chance is now listed in the drop-down.
  • Reduced MP cost of Open Door to 7 points.
  • Reduced MP cost of Destroy Door to 10 points.
  • Implemented new system for tier 3 spell casters. Many spells are now "restricted" and available for learning by tier 3 casters only.
  • Implemented several new spells: Fire Arrow, Ice Arrow, Fist of Burning Rage, The Heartless Fist, The Tick's Mouth, Fist of the Eel, Kiss of the Clouds, Earth Wail, Eyes of Doom

[edit] Faction Changes

  • The Browse Factions page now displays only active members in the count.
  • The Browse Factions page now sorts by faction level, descending, by default (was alphabetical).
  • Faction search results page now mimics normal faction display page wrt columns displayed. Also has ability to set politics. Does not sort.
  • Implemented a "jump to page" navigation tool for factions with large member lists.
  • Sorting by level on the member list now defaults to descending.

[edit] Other

  • ALTERED THE WAY THE CHARACTER POINT CAP OPERATES
    • There is no "per level" cap any longer - you may now collect as many CP as you wish.
    • However, you can't buy a new character class until you're below the correct cap (40 for tier 2, 70 for tier 3).
  • Added a bunch of new book descriptions.
  • Implemented the Lore of Haldon. These are fragments of cosmic information written by the lich, Haldos. You can find them in various places.
    • Collect all of them and earn a permanent bonus of +10 Max MP.
  • Many (read: most) items that you can find may now be broken upon the death of the character.
    • Breakage affects items that do not suffer from degredation and are not weapons (pretty much things you can't enchant).
    • When an item is broken, it is utterly destroyed and removed from the inventory.
    • The chance is 10% per item and happens on death only.
    • Items that can be broken include (but are not limited to): surgeon's kits, toolkits, FAKs, lockpicks, booze, and books.
    • IMPROVISED WEAPONS ARE NOT AFFECTED BY THIS CHANGE.
  • Listened to lots of Stevie Wonder, Johnny Cash, and Dio.
  • Several visual design improvements/changes
  • Rebuilt all of the class icons (and redesigned several).
  • Added stars to character profiles next to statistics, indicating the number of badges earned for that particular stat.
  • Goofed with the aspect code for tier threes. Includes a wonderful homage to the 1931 film, "M".
  • Local characters are now informed when a character levels up.
  • Everyone is now notified when a character reaches level 20 or level 30 (global announcement for 'gratz' purposes).
  • Changing your email address on your account now requires that you enter your password.
  • It now tells you what the spell is when someone gives you a spell.
  • Five more badges on various planes.

  • Optimized several tile JSPs.
  • Applied a pass of super-optimization to the java "attack" servlet.
  • Modified Location objects to not store their description Strings unless they are "unique" descriptions. If there is a unique one, we'll display that; otherwise, show the default one.
  • XMLHTTP-ized the stronghold actions panel.

  • Implemented a whole slew of admin tools to edit and manipulate factions in live-time.

[edit] Quality-of-Life

  • Character creation date is now set to the user's defined timezone.
  • <Lance_Kokaine> jorm, since you get a faction message when the standard is taken, I was wondering if the name of the character taking the standard could be in that message to help factions bring the pain when they next come across said person?
    • Done.
  • If a Nexus Champion has both Tattoo of the Wandering Way and Tattoo of the Eye of Death, he may now directly teleport to the locations given by the Eye of Death, presuming they are within range.
  • Added a red highlight to rows in the inventory when the mouse is over the "Drop" button.
  • When you click a target, the target pane's tab flashes at you now, indicating that something has happened.
  • Switched order of N/S and E/W pulldowns in the Wandering Way system (matches X/Y logic instead of Y/X logic)
  • Charged attack elements no longer appear in the combat pane if the player does not have enough MP to use the charge.
  • Character names are now clickable when found through the Reveal spell.

[edit] Bug Fixes

  • Changing classes no longer sends faction mail to leaders.
  • Bug where attacking while invisible via potion didn't end invisibility.
  • Bug with clothing mysteriously re-equipping.
  • Faction damage bonuses were not showing up in spell pull downs.
  • MP costs displayed when enchanting items were not taking into account Nexus Empowerment.
  • Tiger claw was being incorrectly applied to melee and sword attacks.
  • Watches are now synchronized with user time zone.
  • Issue where character had fewer MP than a spell required on paper but enough with nexus affinity causing spell failure.
  • Bug involving accepting multiple faction invites after clicking 'back'.
  • Issue where a faction standard could be taken multiple times (different from the older standard can be recovered multiple times issue).
  • Issue with crafting items that would bring you to *exactly* your maximum inventory.
  • Yet another "finding invisible people" bug.
  • Dying from poisons now tells you you died.
  • Removed "_" from the list of acceptable characters in character names.
  • Fixed issue where players were unable to craft throwing knives inside of forgotten factories.
  • Way of Lightning was costing an Ap when it deactivated
  • It is no longer possible to respawn if you do not have enough AP to do so.
  • Flying characters may no longer interact with doors.
  • Faction and Survivor bonuses are no longer applied to the Shepherd's Heal other skill.
  • Bug with retrieving standards if the faction has no stronghold.
  • Sort bug in faction safes.
  • It is no longer possible to "farm" power plants.
  • Bug with "skill" attacks (e.g., Demoralize) having a blank pull down when only tentacles of g'nak are present.
  • Bug with target shooting pull down being empty when character has only destroyed weapons.
  • Bug with certain actions causing status effects to wear off too early.
  • Bug where flying characters could set up shootable targets.
  • The spell Destroy Door now correctly shifts you towards evil.
