A character's Class serves as a general representation of the abilities of the character. Different character classes have different Skills that are available for purchase. Each class also has a particular set of Aspects, or appearances, which are unique to it.

All characters start as Mortals. Upon reaching Character Level 10, the character is eligible to select from one of several Tier 2 classes, depending upon his or her Alignment. When the character reaches level 20, he or she may choose to select from one of several Tier 3 classes.

Upon reaching level 10, all characters will be able to select from either Sorcerer or Myrmidon, the Unaligned tier two classes. If the character's alignment is Evil, the classes Pariah and Defiler will also be available. If the character is Good, the classes Paladin and Shepherd will be selectable (there will never be more than four class choices at level 10 nor fewer than two).

The classes available to a character at level 20 are directly determined by his or her tier two class. Tier three character classes are extremely powerful and are generally more specialized versions of their tier two parents.

Selecting a new class will not prevent you from buying skills from your previous classes.

[edit] Base Class

Mortal

A mortal being.
All characters begin play as mortals. Mortal characters have access to primarily mundane skills (though they have limited access to a few minor magical abilities). They are perhaps the most flexible of all character classes, as they have not yet been forced to specialize in any one area.

[edit] Unaligned Classes

Unaligned character classes are always available to characters at level 10, regardless of the character's Alignment. They do not imply a moral choice.

Myrmidon

A mortal with extraordinary combat prowess.
Myrmidons are combat specialists. Their skills are directly based around this function - especially their innate abilities to see hidden foes. They have the ability to land critical hits upon targets, making them even more lethal.
Eternal Soldier
An immortal legionnaire of the Infinite Nexus.
Eternal Soldiers are the epitome of combat expertise and philosophy. No other character class can match their abilities with weaponry. Eternal Soldiers come in a wide variety of flavors, from monk-like martial arts masters to military special-ops soldiers to archaic, kilted Scotsmen to vicious bare-knuckle boxers.
Nexus Champion
A powerful combatant who has learned to manipulate magic.
The Nexus Champion is an enigma. While the members of this class are primarily combatants, they also possess the ability to cast spells. Nexus Champions derive their power from several mystical tattoos which cover their entire bodies. Nexus champions can grow more powerful the closer they bring their morality to the center. They might also summon a pet.
Revenant
An undead warrior who stalks the night.
The Revenant is an undead, predatory warrior aligned with death and darkness. His powers are great and terrible at night, but during the day he is extremely weak. Sunlight burns him. He has two alternate forms and may summon two different pets.

Sorcerer

An immortal being who has mystical powers.
The Sorcerer is an individual who has chosen to tread the paths of magical study. They have skills that further enhance this ability.
Wizard
A master of the forces of magic.
The Wizard is a magician who focuses on the study of pure ideals of magic. As such, his power with magic is greater than any other practitioner of the magic arts. Wizards are able to enchant the most powerful items.
Elementalist
A master of the elemental forces.
The Elementalist is a magician who has chosen to focus his study on the four elements: earth, wind, fire, and water. This grants him an array of abilities, including the ability to summon elemental pets.
Lich
A powerful master of wizardry who has escaped death by becoming undead.
The Lich is a magician who has chosen to study the dread Lore of Haldon: magicks which concern themselves with death and the control of it. Through study, the Lich has learned to defeat death by becoming undead himself. Liches are moderately powerful combatants, and are capable of raising the dead and controlling them as pets.

[edit] Good Classes

Good character classes will only be available if the character has a Morality score of +20 or higher. When a character selects a Good class, he or she has aligned his or her soul with the forces of law and justice and is foreverafter upon the road towards transforming into an angel.

Paladin

A powerful soldier for the forces of good.
The Paladin is a footsoldier for the forces of good. Like the Myrmidon and the Pariah, the Paladin is a combatant, though unlike the others he is much better suited to resist damage.
Seraph
A divine angel with great and terrible power.
The Seraph is the ultimate soldier in the armies of good. His is a simple job: punish evil, wherever it is. The powers of the Seraph are almost entirely combat based, and they are feared by demons throughout the cosmos for the sheer amount of punishment they can dish out.
Divine Champion
A powerful guardian of the forces of light.
The Divine Champion is an angel whose powers are great and terrible. While Divine Champions are able to cast spells, they are best known for their ability to transform their bodies into several forms: a sheet of fire (which grants them several fire attacks), a wisp of air (which grants them several peculiar abilities), and a form of solid steel (which grants them increased damage resistance and strength - enough to throw cars).

Shepherd

A priest for the forces of good.
The Shepherd is akin to an old-world cleric, a magician dedicated to the forces of good whose powers are built around providing aid and succor to those in need. Shepherds have the unique ability to pray for additional powers.
Advocate
A divine being with a magnificent grasp of holy magic.
The Advocate is an extremely powerful angelic character whose purpose is to serve as the central "brain" for the forces of good. It is the Advocate who can focus the Word through their eyes and their voice.
Lightspeaker
A holy being with the power to command lesser creatures of the light.
The Lightspeaker is both a soldier and a magician for the angelic forces. The powers of the Lightspeaker are primarily concerned with summoning various denizens of Paradise as pets.

[edit] Evil Classes

Evil character classes will only be available if the character has a Morality score of -20 or lower. When a character selects an Evil class, the character has aligned his or her soul with the forces of chaos and darkness and is hereafter upon the road towards transforming into a demon.

Pariah

A half-demon, servitor warrior of darkness.
The Pariah is the canonfodder of hell. Vicious, fast, and lethal, they are less able to defend themselves than Myrmidons or Paladins. However, they make up for this with the speed at which they can inflict damage. Pariahs have a special power that allows them to explode at will, inflicting damage to all that are near.
Infernal Behemoth
An extremely powerful demon lord.
The classic hellish lord, the Infernal Behemoth is a hulking monstrosity devoted only to inflicting as much pain as possible. Infernal Behemoths are simple creatures: they kill and kill and kill, always seeking their Bloodlust.
Void Walker
A demon lord with the ability to manipulate hellish magic.
The Void Walker is the darkness that creeps in at night and steals dreams. It is the Void Walker who smothers children and murders pets. These demons are nightmares made solid, vile, oily creatures that walk through walls. Void Walkers are able to cast spells.

Defiler

A dark sorcerer dedicated to evil.
The Defiler is a damned individual who has sold his soul for immediate profit. Defilers are initiates into the paths of infernal magic, and have powers that drain and poison their foes.
Dark Oppressor
A master of manipulating hellish magic.
The Dark Oppressor is the true master of hellish Stygia: he is the Lord of Hell and commands its armies. Dark Oppressors command through fear: fear of the Oppressor's Agony Curse. The Dark Oppressor is extremely powerful when he is in Stygia - moreso than many Infernal Behemoths.
Wyrm Master
A demon sorcerer who has the ability to summon creatures from the void.
Wyrm Masters are mutated, infernal magicians who have focused their studies on the control and mastery of Stygia's many creatures. They are capable of summoning these vile things and controlling them as pets.
