Downtown

The downtown core of the Saint Germaine Archipelago is located towards the southern end of Saint Germaine Island. Downtown is composed entirely of office buildings, excepting a handful of houses and apartment buildings generally found around the outer edges. Here is where you'll find the Parliament buildings, seat of the government of the Saint Germaine Principality, as well as one of Saint Germaine's most beautiful parks, Copernicus Park.

The downtown core is in the south central area of Saint Germaine Island. The northeastern border of Downtown is connected to Eastshore; and to the south-east are Chuckwagon and Jonestown. Southton is located south of the downtown core. Marshall is to the south-west, and the north-west of Downtown borders Clifton.

Downtown contains the following infrastructure:
- a Gas Station (14,40)
- Downtown Precinct, a police station (15,41)
- a Corner Store (16,41)
- LeGuin Station, a fire station (17,38)
- Rightaway, a supermarket (23,39)
- Copernicus Library at (24,38 to 24,39)
- San Ventura Hospital (24,40 to 25,40)
Also of note:
- the Saint Germaine Parliament (19,38 to 20,39)
- Copernicus Park (19,37 to 22,37)
- (22,37) is also a portal to Purgatorio
[edit] Recent History
Since the great exodus from Valhalla, Downtown is a much safer location. While previously, travelers had to contend with the Pirates Of R'lyeh and The Wild Hunt, now the beneficent Alliance of St. Germaine and The Merry Men have moved into nearby Chuckwagon. Downtown is no longer one of the most unsafe areas in the Principality and spending the night there is no longer the death sentence it once was.
Due to the portal at Copernicus Park and Downtown's resources and proximity to nearby important strongholds and neighborhoods, Downtown has heavy traffic. Warriors of all sorts still come here to hunt and fight, as angels arriving from Paradise and demons from Stygia come through their respective, nearby, portals. There is also traffic passing through to do business with Ye Olde Component Shoppe, where all kinds of goods and services can be acquired.

Sleeping in Downtown is much safer than it once was, however one must be careful to stay out of resource buildings and out of direct lines between the many resources and portals nearby, including one IN downtown at Copernicus Park as those areas are heavily trafficked by all manner of wanderer.
