[edit] Geography
To the East, Dry Gulch has a great view of a dry lake and the Dust Plains. It is surrounded on three sides by large tracks of farmland dotted with Faded Houses and Faded Barns.
While the train no longer goes to Silverado both Big Whiskey and Boomtown are each just one stop up the line.
The town itself boasts:
- 5 Faded Saloons
- 3 Faded Gun Stores
- 3 Faded General Stores
- 3 Faded Bordellos
- 3 Faded Stables
- 2 Faded Churches
- 1 Faded Schoolhouse
The Faded Jail is also a popular destination and often precedes a trip to the Gallows. From there the tour leads directly to the Faded Church at (30,71) and its portal to the Warrens (16,4).
[edit] Recent History
In the early days of Dry Gulch, several medium sized factions settled in the area. After the initial wave of land grabbers, some factions were quickly and forcibly directed to find other places to live. Nursing their wounds and bearing grudges, these faction sent nearby allies seeking revenge.
More recently, Pirates Of R'lyeh have sailed the dust plains and ported in Dry Gulch. The arid land withered further under their corruption and more than half the city bore their mark. After some time in the area, they have moved on to more productive pastures.
Several medium sized and active factions have secured their position here too, including The Fat Duck, Black Mambas, Suburban Ed's Peasant Militia, GMT Breakfast Club, and Guild of the DragonMages.
[edit] Travelers' Tips
Keep your Walker Colt loaded, and carry a backup weapon. If you don't have one, pick one up from the local Faded Gun Stores, they make great souvenirs. Evil holds sway over the majority of the area with pirates and demonic restaurant staff holding on to key positions. All travellers are advised to use utmost caution around here.
A travellers to the area should make a visit to The Feathered Foe Bar and Grill, located at 30, 63. A quick bit of beating of the ward should let all but the weediest of tourists in and the hospitality is excellent. Drinks are on the house and all visitors to the area are greatly encouraged to check out the hospitality and entertainment of the saloon, but patrons are encouraged not to kill each other or the owners as this could slow down the supply of booze, which no one wants. The Fat Duck Restaurant and GMT Breakfast Club are also located in the area, but have a habit of killing and maiming customers who don't make reservations, so stay well clear unless you are properly prepared. A portal to the Warrens located to the South East and the ever useful train station make travelling to a great deal of places throughout the Deadlands and Underworld easier and more affordable.
