Elysium

[edit] Location
The enclave of Elysium is situated in the Northwest corner of the plane of Paradise. Its Eastward borders are with Machon and the Forest of Changes, and in the Southeast its neighbor is Araboth.
[edit] Geography
Elysium holds no buildings of any sort. The majority of its area is Idyllic Grassland, with a significant stretch of Forest along its Westernmost boundary.
Considering this uniformity, it may be surprising to learn that the area sees more traffic than several similar portions of Paradise. There are two reasons for this.
The Silent Battlefield (4,4) holds a complex statue arrangement - a staggeringly lifelike depiction of battle between Angelic and Demonic forces. Even if curiosity alone weren't enough to compel Nexal denizens to explore the space, it would still see crushing traffic. The statue garden holds one of the major portals out of Paradise. Both Purgatorio and Valhalla are accessible from here.
The immediate Northeast of that area also holds the only unusual terrain in all Elysium - several ancient Ruins.
[edit] Recent History
Elysium is truly timeless. Even strife here is frozen in stone, and those who use the portal to enter or exit the plane do so with goals incompatible with the eternal stillness of Elysium.
Infusion wars may well rage over such a large plot of open ground accessible from three planes, but even that battle is invisible on the surface of things, undertaken indirectly and with careful planning.
[edit] Travellers' Tips
The Forest may be the safest section of Elysium, but given the traffic generated by its link to Purgatorio's Island of Gates, spending the night here is . . . inadvisable.
