This creature appears as a floating skeleton wrapped in the blasted remnants of some form of ceremonial armor. Bright dots of light hover within its eyesockets.
Haldos (sometimes Haldos the Diseased or Haldos the Deathless) was an extremely powerful sorcerer who was obsessed with death and all things concerning it. He was the first to discover the secrets of Lichdom - the powers that grant dominion over death, and through death, immortality.
He was the first to learn to animate the dead and to command them, and his mere presence was said to wither plant life. He kept meticulous and detailed notes about his work, and these notes survive to this day as the Lore of Haldon (sometimes referred to as Halnish Lore or the Gospel of Lazarus).
His name has been connected throughout history with all manner of dark and necrotic happenings; indeed, in the middle ages many alchemists believed that he was Lazarus himself, originally raised from the dead by the Christian messiah. Modern magical scholars dismiss this account, however, believing him to never have been touched by grace.
Haldos is said to have been destroyed in a great battle of magic that took place in the Necrotic Tower, his dark citadel in Purgatorio. Legend states that he did battle with the Greater Power of Death, Hashaa - the so-called grim reaper - who had become angered by Haldos' meddling in the deep magicks reserved for Death and Death alone. However, many consider this, too, to be only a legend, arguing that a creature who spent his entire existence learning about death may very well yet still haunt the Nexus.

[edit] Powers and Abilities
[edit] Movement
Haldos is undeterred by doors, barriers, or wards. He can move when and where he chooses, inside or outside.
[edit] Multiple Attack Types
Haldos has two primary attack forms:
- A powerful, Magical touch attack
- A death wail Area of Effect attack that also deals Magical damage.
Additionally, Haldos is able to summon multiple Wraiths to aid in his defense.
[edit] Immunities
Haldos is immune to the following damage types:
- Bludgeon
- Piercing
- Slashing
- Cold
- Fire
- Death
Further, Haldos possesses a soak of 10 points to all damage types that he is not already immune.
[edit] Regeneration
Haldos is possessed of extraordinary regenerative capabilities. The Demi-Lich regains 50 Hit Points every pet tick.
[edit] Death
If killed, the deathless, eternal nature of the Demi-Lich is powerful enough that it will eventually reform its body. Haldos makes his home in the Necrotic Tower and will not leave there.
[edit] Killing Haldos
The process of killing Haldos is a monumental undertaking - one worthy of some of the largest and most co-ordinated factions. It is a very difficult task, but it is not without its rewards.
Being involved in a party that successfully slays Haldos will earn the character one, two, or even three Achievement badges, as well as a certain amount of Character Points and Experience Points.
- Each character involved in the slaying will earn 10 Character Points, 500 Experience Points, and the Warrior of Hashaa badge.
- The character who lands the killing blow will earn an additional 15 Character Points, an additional 500 Experience Points, and the Lichslayer badge (in addition to the benefits for being part of the raid)
- The character who deals the most damage to Haldos will earn an additional 20 Character Points, a further 1,000 Experience Points, and the coveted Master of the Tower badge.
These benefits will be applied even if the character is killed in the battle.
Further, the Faction who deals the most total damage to the Demi-Lich will earn 50 points of honor.
Note that if Haldos manages to heal to full health at any time, all data about who has done damage to the him will be erased (since all effort to that point has been for naught).
