This creature appears to be a small ball of hovering light. It darts back and forth, extremely agile.
An Aethersprite is a Pet that is summoned by the Lightspeaker skill Summon Aethersprite. Aethersprites are primarily concerned with healing other characters and possess only weak attacks. They will only attack characters of evil morality, unless the Lightspeaker has the Fanatical Soldiers skill, then the Aethersprites will also attack characters of neutral morality.
Aethersprite behavior is different from that of most other pets. They are primarily concerned with the health and safety of the Lightspeaker who summoned them, and will heal him first before attacking.
If the Aethersprite does not have any targets, it will begin healing other characters in its location provided that those characters are good. Those being healed will recover up to 10 Hit Points and each heal costs the Aethersprite 5 Magic Points. It is an Aethersprite's instinctive need to care for the well-being of others, and its behaviour is not within the control of the Lightspeaker.
In addition to healing Hit Point damage, the Aethersprite's healing ability also cures various status ailments, including the Defiler's Poison, Minor Poison and the Pariah's Weaken, but not Agony Curse.
If the Lightspeaker also possess the skill Heart Light, the Aethersprite's healing power is doubled (to 20 points).
Aethersprite heals do not grant Experience Points or add to the "HP Healed" stat of the Lightspeaker who summoned them.
Aethersprites are capable of attacking flying characters.
If an Aethersprite is stolen by a Dark Oppressor through the use of Touch of Corrupted Loyalty, it becomes known as a Hellsprite. It will then no longer heal, and will deal Unholy damage instead of Holy.
