Help:Creating a faction page

Creating a page for your faction is easy to do.

Step 1: Enter your faction's name into the search box to the left and click "Go". Chances are very good that you will get no results. Click on the "create this page" link and you will be brought to an edit screen.

Step 2: Now that you have the faction page editor open, cut and paste the following text into it:

[[Category:Factions]]

This declares that the page belongs to a faction.

Step 3: Now, cut and paste the following into your page. This creates the faction box on the right hand side. This is the Faction template.

{{faction|factionname|factID|founder|alignment|membership_policy|membership|karma|level|1|2|3|4|5}}

Edit this text, replacing the following bits:

• factionname : Enter the name of your faction here.
• factID : Enter your faction's ID here. This can be obtained by looking at your faction's page on www.nexuswar.com and taking the number after "factionID=".
• founder : The name of your faction's founder.
• alignment : Your faction's alignment (Neutral, Unaligned, Evil, or Good)
• membership_policy : Your membership policy (e.g., "Open, No Multis")
• membership : The number of members in your faction
• karma : Your faction's karma.
• level : Your faction's level.
• 1 : outer border color (e.g., "black")
• 2 : header background color (e.g., "white")
• 3 : inner border color (e.g., "black")
• 4 : inner background color (e.g., "white")
• 5 : inner font color (e.g., "black")

Step 4: Enter a couple more category elements to make your faction easier to find in searches:

If your faction is unaligned, put:

[[Category:Unaligned Factions]]

If your faction is good, put:

[[Category:Good Factions]]

If your faction is evil, put:

[[Category:Evil Factions]]

If your faction is open, put:

[[Category:Open Factions]]

If your faction is closed, put:

[[Category:Closed Factions]]

If your faction is aligned, put:

[[Category:Aligned Factions]]

Step Five: Once that's all done, you can start entering information about your faction, like your history, politics, and goals.

Step Six: Click "Save" and you're done!
