This page is used for requesting the speedy deletion of a page on the Nexus War wiki. Only wiki administrators have the ability to speedy delete pages, but any user may ask for a page to be speedy deleted.

[edit] Speedy Deletions vs. Deletions

A page is eligible for speedy deletion if it matches any of the following criteria:

  1. Copyright violation: The page is a copyright violation.
  2. Offensive or illegal: The page contains offensive or illegal content (such as pornography or death threats to the President).
  3. No Content/Incoherent Content: The page contains no more than a line or two of content that cannot clearly be expanded, or consists of random or incoherent content. Includes pages created by adbots or vandals.
  4. User Errors: The page is the result of user error (such as misspelling the name of a Faction)
  5. Broken Redirects: The page is a Broken Redirect (ie. redirect that goes nowhere) that cannot be fixed.
  6. Empty Category: The page is a Category page that has no entries within it.
  7. Missed Talk Page: The page is a talk page from a previous deletion request that has not been deleted with the request.
  8. Author Edit Only: The page has been requested for speedy deletion by the original author, and has been edited only by its author.
  9. User Pages: The page is a User subpage that has been requested for speedy deletion by the user.

[edit] Making a Speedy Deletion Request

Deletion requests are to be entered underneath the Current Speedy Deletion Queue header, below.

Every deletion request must include the following information:

  1. A link to the page to be deleted.
  2. A reason for deletion.
  3. A signature (with timestamp).

Once a deletion request has been made, an administrator will review the request and choose whether or not to delete it. The deletion of the page will occur immediately, if necessary. The decision with regards to deletion rests with the adminstration team.

The instructions for a Speedy Delete ask for three details, only one of which has been supplied. With no signature and no link to the page in question, this request is hereby denied until such time as the instructions have been correctly followed. --Liche 09:15, 17 November 2008 (CST)

Something I noticed on recent changes.

A re-upload of Image:ScrollwarsWikiLogo.gif which was deleted about a month ago. Speedy deletins rules don't specifically include mention of it, but I'm pretty sure that trying to sneak around executive decisions fits in the speedy delete more than regular delete. --Teksura 01:46, 20 August 2008 (CDT)

  • I am the original uploader of the image. I have re-uploaded it under a different name because we can't simply move it. The original image with the old name will no longer be used because once we get over 50 standards I intend to replace the image with the more impressive version.
