[edit] User: and User talk: pages
[edit] User Pages
It should be noted that User: pages are the sole property of that particular user and may not be edited by others (so, User:Jorm is the sole property of jorm). Further, Users may request the speedy deletion of their User pages, or any subpages therein.
[edit] User Talk: Pages
User Talk: pages are primarily the sole property of their particular user as well (so, User talk:Jorm is the sole property of jorm). Comments made by others on User Talk: pages may be removed by the page owner. It is considered good form to archive a talk page (created by appending "/Archive" to a user talk page, such as User talk:Jorm/Archive) instead of simply blanking the page. Not all users will follow this convention, however.
While removing of comments is allowed, modifying others' comments (impersonating) is not, and is considered vandalism.
[edit] Faction and Faction Talk: pages
[edit] Faction Pages
Due to constant interference between groups on the wiki, editing privileges are heavily codified. Factions, like Users, have sole ownership of their Faction page on the wiki. They have two options for allowing and/or disallowing editing on their page.
- The first option (the default):
- The page is entirely NPOV. The page is not considered to be "owned" by the faction in question and may be edited by anyone.
- The second option:
- The page is under the control of the group and may not be edited by anyone outside of said group. This requires that the Point-of-View template be placed on the page. The template must be placed at the top of the page; this serves to notify readers that the page is not NPOV and should not be considered as such.
{{POV}}
Example:
Caution: The owner of this page states that it may or may not be factual and/or unbiased, and so should not be considered 'Neutral Point of View'. As such, only the creator of this page - or others, given permission - may edit it.
[edit] Faction Talk: Pages
Faction talk pages are more restrictive than User talk pages. Faction leaders are allowed to remove conversation, comments or notices, under the provision that they archive the removed content, as above (created by appending "/Archive" to a group talk page, such as Talk:The Divine Army/Archive). Wiping comments on Faction talk pages may be considered vandalism; archival is the preferred action for dead conversations. However, users are more than welcome to reorganise conversation, or perform other maintenance tasks if they feel that the page requires it.
[edit] Controversy On Faction Pages
The following template must be included on a faction page if two groups come into conflict over an event, even if both groups claim POV status for their page.
{{Controversy|Event Name}}
Example:
The facts about Event Name are in dispute. See Event Name Controversy for more information.
