A raid is an organized assault by one or more factions against the stronghold of an enemy faction. Raids are used to attack enemies, gain Experience Points, and hopefully capture the standard of the faction, removing their stronghold from the map.

[edit] Basics

Raids are generally planned ahead of time. Most often a faction leader will use Faction Mail or another form of communication (such as an instant messenger service, private forums, or IRC chat) to tell others that a raid will be held at a certain time and date. Once the appropiate time is reached, members leave for the enemy stronghold. They then attack the ward of the enemy stronghold. This gives access to the inside of the stronghold. Once inside, combat errupts as the attackers attempt to remove all the defenders from the building, allowing the faction standard to be taken.

[edit] Chain of Events

  1. Members of the Attackers gather
  2. Attackers reach the enemy stronghold and attack the ward
  3. Once the ward is down, the attackers go inside
  4. Combat begins
  5. The outcome of combat is one of the following:
    • The Attackers clear the stronghold or the Attackers break the Flag Shield
    • The Defenders hold back the Attackers, protecting their standard
  6. After combat, the stronghold may be disbanded if the Attackers capture the standard, or it will remain if the Defenders hold out.

[edit] Attacking

When attacking, there are three main types of roles usually used.

  • Ward Breakers These characters are used to attack and destroy the ward. They must attack first, because otherwise no one is able to enter the stronghold.
  • Combatants This group is made up of players who will fight character to character. These characters are often the bulk of a raiding party. Their job is to kill and wound as many enemy faction members as possible.
  • AoE (Area of Effect) This group usually consists of spellcasters who specialize in Area of Effect spells - spells that damage large numbers of characters at once. Characters who use Sub-Machine Guns for burst fire are also part of the AOE group. They are used for eliminating "meatshields" and for killing as many enemy faction members as possible.

[edit] Tips for Attacking

  • Make sure you are attacking an enemy before you attack.
  • Watch out for allies. Do not attack them.
  • Listen to your commanders. You do not want to be hurting your own teammates with an AOE attack when they are trying to fight.
  • Stock up on Action Points and supplies. Having more AP means being able to attack and do more. Stocking up on supplies is important, especially weapons, ammo, spells, First Aid Kits, and other items of interest.
  • Attack active enemies. Attack people who attack back first, then attack the people who are not actively playing their character at the time.
