You are able to channel the death energies of those you kill into an evil prayer to the dark lords, corrupting the earth where their blood is spilled.
Whenever the Defiler kills another character, the victim's death energy is used to power an automatic Corruption in the location of death. Unlike normal infusion abilities, this power works both indoors and out of doors; however, it is otherwise subject to the same limitations of infusion. This is a passive ability and is always active. The victim will lose 1 Magic Point in the process.
The lords of Stygia value the spilt blood of angels more than that of other victims. Salt The Earth will infuse for 6 points if the victim is a Tier 2 angel, and 8 points if it is a Tier 3 angel. Mortal victims will infuse to 2 points, non-angelic tier 2s infuse to 3 points, and non-angelic tier 3s infuse to 6 points.
The battle was over, but the Defiler's work was not. A Paladin and two Shepherds were bound tightly to the mangled door of their former stronghold. Silent and stoic they were, but they saw their doom in the lurid symbols the Defiler was forming at their feet. When the foul sorcerer was satisfied, he began chanting a litany of blasphemy. Thousands upon thousands of little cuts opened up along the bodies of the angelic beings. They died watching their blood seep into the earth, turning it gray and parched.
The Defiler looked at his work and was pleased. It was one thing to slaughter one's enemies, but to take their sacred ground and corrupt it so thoroughly... he only wished he could stay around long enough to see the horrified faces of their Angelic brethren as they took in the desecration of the once holy stronghold of Good.
