In the eternal struggle, your character will find the need to protect his or herself, but doesn't want to get near the hulking monstrosities that lurk the dark buildings or back alleys of Nexus. Fortunately, there exist a wide variety of ranged weapons that allow your character to inflict pain and death at a distance, and some allowing the ability to be able to attack large crowds or flying targets.

In determining the overall ethos of the next universe, it was understandable that weapons would play a big part in the struggle. Lightspeakers state that the reason for the plentiful supply of ranged weapons is to be able to better fend off the hordes of the abyss. The demons chuckle and watch more and more mortals use their firearms for selfish means, further bringing them down the path of evil. Regardless, no one is questioning why such ranged weapons lie scattered around the battlefield of Nexus: the playing field must be balanced somehow in order to give all of the sides a fair chance.

Ranged weapons can be used untrained, but are improved through the purchase of the Ranged Combat skill tree. Various other second and third-tier skills (such as the Myrmidon's Weapon Mastery), potions (such as a Potion of Combat Clarity) or spells (such as Eagle Eye), can also improve your chances to hit with ranged weapons. The individual weapons state which side-branch of the Ranged Combat skill tree they belong to.

Currently, the ranged weapons found around Nexus are:

[edit] Thrown weapons

Thrown weapons are a specialty class of weapons. On the one hand, they offer AoE effects (in the form of grenades and dynamite) of considerable power; however, for dealing direct damage, they are inefficient. Unlike any other weapon available, SMGs have a 5% base hit rate in place of the normal 10%.
