Standard
From NexusWiki
Standards are flags or other objects that represent a faction. Standards are kept inside a faction's stronghold and are protected by a flag shield. They can be taken by other factions during a successful raid. The flag shield must be destroyed before the flag can be taken.
A standard can only be captured if the following criteria are met:
- The character attempting to take the standard is a member of the attacking faction for at least 24 hours
- The attacking faction has set the defending faction to Hostile
- The attacking faction has a stronghold themselves if they are able.
Retrieving a standard does not require the flag shield be destroyed or hostile political stances to be declared. It is also possible to retrieve the standards that belong to allied factions.
Capturing or retrieving a standard requires 1 Action Point. These actions are listed on the Basic Actions group in the Actions Pane and are two methods of gaining factional honor.
When a standard is captured, the defending faction will automatically have their stronghold revoked and their faction bonuses will be halved. When a standard is retrieved, there are no penalties to the defending faction.
Strongholds can only be created when a faction recovers their standard. This can be achieved through recovering a flag from the raiding faction's stronghold or waiting a period of 24 hours after the flag was taken.
