The Stygian Warrens is the formal name for the plane of existence that lies below the frozen wastes of Stygia. It is a dark, cavernous realm, where twisted passages have been mined and power has been harnessed..
The Warrens are accessible via several caves that dot the realm of Stygia.
History and myth says that the plane of Stygia actually lies upon the back of the Elder Power Tholaghru. The Warrens would seem to indicate that this is more than a mere fancy of poetry, as the cavern walls are organic in nature and pulses can be felt through the walls. In some areas, a dread heartbeat can be heard.

[edit] Travelling in the Warrens
The Warrens are extremely cramped and have few wide, open areas, making travel difficult. There is no mechanism for rapid transit. However, flight is possible through the caverns.
It should be noted, however, that many of the plane's passages have been flooded with burning magma.

[edit] The Lake of Fire
To the south west of the Warrens lies the Lake of Fire. It is a large area composed entirely of molten lava. Legend states that a great fleet of Stygian Ironclads was launched from here, hoping to reach through to Valhalla.

At the end of many dark passages lie unspent Soul Mines, where slaves once toiled to mine magical power for their Oppressor overlords.

The Warrens at this time seem to be a fairly safe place to sleep for Tier-3 Demons.
