Inevitably, in the eternal struggle of the Nexus, your character will be wounded and will encounter wounded characters. There are many traditional and non-traditional ways of repairing this damage, as well as ways to use medical items to prevent further damage. Each type of healing item has its own effect, but some come with consequences.

Those who fall to the dark path lose the benefit of other people being able to heal them. Advocates state this is not only because no one would want to get close enough to a demon to give it medical care, but that the demon’s sense of Pride doesn’t allow them to accept such healing from others, lest they be thought weak. Demons, of course, have adapted to their selfish ways, and have developed alternative sources of healing for themselves. Regardless, no one is questioning why such items of healing lie scattered around the battlefield of Nexus: many will require succor from wounds sustained during the eternal struggle.

Currently, the healing and medical items found around Nexus are:

This is a small red-colored gem. Micro-fine cracks cover its surface, and appears to contain some sort of liquid.

Weight: 1

Number of Uses: 1

Crafted: By Dark Oppressors by using the Life Vampire skill on a victim.

Additional Effect: Good-aligned or Neutral-aligned characters lose 1 point of Morality with each use.

Healing: 10 Hit Points.

Can also be used as Alchemical Crafting Components.

[edit] Dose of Amphetamines

This is a single dose of an amphetamine. It will energize you.

Weight: 1

Number of Uses: 1

Effect: Gives 2 Action Points, at cost of 1 Action Point. Amphetamines allow you to go over your normal AP limit, up to twice your normal limit.

This is a single dose of a painkiller. It will increase your resistance to damage.

Effect: Gives +1 to Damage Soak values for five minutes.

Notes Taking a Dose of Painkillers will make a character lethargic.

This is a standard first aid kit. It contains bandages, salves, and small amounts of medicine.

Weight: 2

Number of Uses: 1 (May be used on others)

Experience: 1 Experience Point per Hit Point healed on others. Experience will not be gained from healing someone you just attacked.


Status Effect: Removes Defiler Poison, Mild Poison, and Weaken.

This is a viscous, black liquid in a simple bottle.

This is a small glass vial filled with a viscous, blood-red liquid. Floating within the vial is what appears to be a bloated, milk-colored, maggot-like insect.

Healing: 15 Hit Points provided the user has Surgery at the cost of 5 Action Points. May only be used on others.

Can be created in a Hospital for 10 Action Points, provided that the user has Surgery.

This is a small rose-colored bottle of a transparent liquid. It smells slightly salty.

Basic Appearance: Vial of Clear Liquid

Weight: 1

Number of Uses: 1

Found: 

Status Effect: Removes Defiler Poison, Mild Poison, and Agony Curse. (Note: does not cure Agony Curse for demons.)

Can also be used as Alchemical Crafting Components.
