Talk:Dark Oppressor

I don't get this guy, the Dark Oppressor. He doesn't really seem to be all that. He suffers weaknesses when not in Stygia, so how would he be a combatant? Is he meant to be more of a defender of Hell? And what exactly are these greater powers while on Stygia? Also, what's teh link between actual gameplay and the Dark Oppressor's political influence? Can anyone help me here? As a faction leader, I've been thinking of descending to this class, but am unsure if it's worth it. --Galvatron 02:46, 27 June 2006 (CDT)

The Dark Oppressor is a ruler of Stygia. Think "final boss". And that's not all he has going for him. The fearsome Agony Curse and the power to turn pets against their masters are both powerful abilities. As for political influence: not only is the Dark Oppressor powerful, but unlike the Infernal Behemoth, they are generally clever enough to come up with diabolical plans, often without getting their own hands soiled. Unlike the Void Walker, they have a presence and force of personality that commands obedience in lesser demons and fear in others. And unlike the Wyrm Master, they do not need to rely on summoned help: their spellcasting and curses are more than sufficient to bring down a foe by themselves. They don't leave Stygia, because they don't need to. Kalir potato brains words 15:26, 10 August 2007 (CDT)
