Talk:Enchantment
From NexusWiki
The page says, "The maximum defensive enchantments an item can have is Five (or a 10% defensive bonus)". That isn't true, is it? Unless things have changed, full body clothing, such as dresses and robes, can give +12%. Is armor restricted to +10% now that it can be enchanted a whole lot? The thought of a +20% dodge FMJ is actually pretty scary...--Francois Martineau 09:16, 10 March 2007 (CST)
- Wiki says: "Defense Bonus enchantments may only be applied to armor, items of clothing and accessories. Each defense bonus enchantment is worth 2%. These enchantments increase the character's total defensive bonus to all attacks when equipped. The maximum defensive enchantments an item can have is Five (or a 10% defensive bonus)" --DJFrank 17:05, 21 April 2007 (CDT)
- Since Karlsbad is not Jorm, I would like a source other than the wiki article itself. Just a confirmation along the lines of "I tried and was allowed/not allowed to attempt this enchantment on armor." and "I tried and was allowed/not allowed to attempt this enchantment on a piece of full body clothing." Also, if +12% robes may exist but can't be made and more, they should probably be mentioned in the article.--Francois Martineau 22:25, 7 July 2007 (CDT)
Can somebody put up how much MP the Enchantments cost to put on an item, weapon or armor? - August 2006
So there's no limit to the # of attack bonus enchantments? You can have a +20% to hit sword? Cause that'd take some doing, but it'd be pretty damn sweet. --Altoid Addict 16:46, 14 September 2006 (CDT)
- I heard of someone who did that, but most people are more inclined to doing a whole lot of an obscure damage type. Still, if you want a really good chance of doing normal damage, like for farming doors or something, that apparently works.--Francois Martineau 09:16, 10 March 2007 (CST)
[edit] Suggestion for enchantment type.
I think we should have a SEARCH enchantment! That would be so awesome. Alot of us book readers would want it i bet. *discuss*
- You should post it to the suggestions forum.--Jorm 17:50, 3 October 2006 (CDT)
[edit] A Question
Does enchanting grant any XP? - Zizanie13 11:39, 17 December 2006 (CST)
- No, enchanting does not grant any XP. --Liche 12:20, 17 December 2006 (CST)
- Not directly, anyway. It does degrade weapons and armor, thus allowing them to be repaired. Unless that got changed in 1.4 and nobody told me...--Francois Martineau 09:11, 10 March 2007 (CST)
[edit] Multiple Pristined Armors
If you have the two item sets enchanted, and then pristined, to max on different things, couldn't that provide an extra 4 bonus. Say an LBA was enchanted 5 death, and then got pristined, for 7 death, and then a Fire Jacket was enchanted and pristined, wouldn't that provide an extra 2 protection versus, say, Nexal? If so, why would you have one pristined set of full body armor when you could have two pristined part armors for extra protection? --Peterbluer 12:13, 28 July 2007 (CDT)
- Enchanted MEA was nice back when you could only fit five enchantments per item and could layer it with other armor, but now it is pretty much obsolete. I suppose enchanted full body armor makes sense if one wants fives (sevens with pristinity) against what MEA protects against and can only afford four potions, likes the way that their MEA or PRA looks, wants to minimize the number of enchanted items carried to limit the cost of death, or if it was already enchanted and a better pair of lighter armors isn't available.--Francois Martineau 10:13, 10 August 2007 (CDT)
