Here we should state all the ways that a character can gain XP and how many XP those actions will give him. That way we won't have to look all over the skills page for that information.

Best Ways to Gain Experience Points, Broken Down by Starting Skills
If your starting skill is...
First Aid
- Healing other people will gain you XP based on HP healed.
Hand-to-hand Combat
- Attacking other people will get you XP based on damage dealt.
Actions which earn 1/2 Experience Points
- Attacking a pet
- Killing another character with a pet
Actions which earn no Experience Points
- Area of Effect skills and spells.
- Barricade construction.
- Barricade destruction.
- Crafting ammunition.
- Door damage.
- Door destruction.
- Energize.
- Transcribe Spell.
- Infuse, Purify, Corrupt.
- Setting up a target.
- Using consumables such as food, alcohol, amphetamines, painkillers, or potions.
- Writing messages with Piece of Chalk or Magic Marker.
