Isn't this ability useless if you have a weapon that does 10 or more holy damage, since it takes double AP and 10 MP to do less than double damage? --AlexanderRM 21:31, 12 October 2007 (CDT)

Yeah, it is useless if your weapon does 10 or more holy damage, but only if your target has 0 soak. If you had a 6 damage blade, and your target had 4 soak, you'd be doing 2 damage/AP/hit. With lesser smite, you can kick that up to 12 (16-4) damage for 6 damage/AP/hit. The charged attacks (see Hellfire and Focused Attack) aren't meant to be used in combat against a soakless defender. They are primarily soakbreakers that change damage type to avoid soak from innate and common Mundane Armor. --Gage 03:43, 13 October 2007 (CDT)

Yeah, I hadn't thought of that... still, if you have, say, 16 holy damage (holy sword+strong/elite attack), then your opponent would have to have at least 7 holy soak for this to be effective and it would still cost 10MP per attack, and I'm also not factoring in strengthen, potion of strength, etc. so...
