Talk:Morale Aura

Just took this skill without thinking about it too much on my Seraph, and it seems kind of useless. Sure everyone good around me gets a +5% bonus against evil, but that isn't very much for the 5/mp per minute it takes to run this spell. At most I can have it going for 8 minutes, which hardly helps in any situation other than a coordinated raid.

Also, why would I choose to use this over Greater Smite? My character doing about an amount of damage in the high 20s to a tier 3 infernal behemoth to get past its soak seems infinitely more useful than a 5% bonus to all of the tier 2s and tier 1s around me who, at best, will have lesser smite and be able to get 5 or 6 damage in at most(after the soak).

So how do I propose that this be buffed? I can think of three options. Add a damage boost to the Morale Aura effect to aid in avoiding the tremendous soak, raise the hit percentage boost so that the rather large Mp loss makes sense, or simply lower the amount of mp used per minute.

I like the third idea best, as it allows my seraph to activate it as more of a defense measure to aid everyone else for as long as he can. Also it might give me the chance to use Morale Aura after getting a few lesser or greater Smites in.

For an exact value, I would love if it could be taken to 3mp/15 minutes. That way it would cost 8mp for an hour and my character could be running this 5% bonus for 5 hours total from 40mp. This would make it less of a coordinated attack tool and more usable as defense since in a 5 hour period more defenders would be able to log in.

Thinking about it now, this skill doesn't even seem that useful in a raid situation. Again the problem is the huge soaks that high levels achieve, which would make greater smite much more practical than a higher chance to hit.

I would suggest using suggestion forum for suggestions. This would give them wider audience and is the official suggestion channel. --Brizth T A 12:23, 28 August 2006 (CDT)
