We are the Barons of Stygia, the Dukes of the fire pits and the lords of all we survey.
Mortals, devils, angels, and the unchosen neutrals alike fear our wrath in the Stygian wastes. If you tire out in the wastes of Stygia - and you probably will, one day - watch the skies. Perhaps if you grovel enough your death will be quick and relatively painless.
Do not build a stronghold in Stygia, for we will destroy it.
Do not attempt to hide in Stygia, for we will find you.
If you have survived the night in the gloom it is because you are beneath our notice. Mosquitos. Gnats. The power of the Dark Oppressor's Guild is total.

The Dark Oppressor's Guild is a safe haven for the Dark Oppressors and Dark Oppressors-to-be. We rule in Stygia, so why not be based there? We can infuse, cast spells, and hit harder than anyone has a right to hit merely for being in Stygia. This is where all Dark Oppressors belong.
We have fun raiding various other Stygian factions, but by and large our stronghold is simply a stopping point for daily hunting in the plane. There's almost always some poor victim to be found (often many poor victims) who've fallen asleep in the Stygian wastes or are trying to cower pathetically in a library or garrison. Join us and be the hunter, not the hunted!
Non-DOs may now join as well.. conquer the Nexus, one day at a time.

There's a reason a crown is your avatar. The Dark Oppressors are the rulers of Stygia. We are a large, focused group of Dark Oppressors. The answer is obvious - join your brothers. This is where you belong. Why be part of some other faction? We may be fairly small in terms of size, but a single one of us can destroy a faction or multiple enemies in the same day. Why be another nameless face in a bloated, crowded faction? For the faction bonus? Have you SEEN the bonus Dark Oppressors get? 1 or 2 damage is nothing, and more than likely the faction is not based in Stygia, so those delicious DO bonuses are nonexistent. In the Dark Oppressor's Guild you get them on a daily basis!
Or, of course, if you are not a DO, you can still enjoy the benefits of being one of the rulers of Stygia.
[edit] Becoming a Member
Easy. Either be a Dark Oppressor or a Defiler who's taking the Dark Oppressor path. Ask for an invite or wait for a DO to invite you. Come to Stygia and lay waste to the countryside. Because paths of destruction are so fun.
However, if you are not a Dark Oppressor you may now join anyhow! You get all the full benefits of being in one of the most powerful Stygian-based factions ever. Be the ruling body! However, as a non-DO you can never gain the full rank and title that a DO can. Prove yourself in a raid (or grease the palm of a member ranked 'Duke of Stygia') and you will get immediate safe access.

A nice, shiny Duke of Stygia title. Full faction benefits, storage abilities, and best of all the ability to stay in Stygia without being killed overnight. Probably by one of us. Constant raids, roleplay, all the power you can shake a stick at, and freedom to do what you want without being hassled by silly things like rules or alliances.

The Dark Oppressors don't really need friends. However, even the masters of Stygia need allies from time to time, so occasionally we will ally with various factions. The Claw, for example, we have decided (at the time of this writing) to ally with.

If there is a faction with a stronghold in Stygia it will more than likely get our attention sooner or later, and when it does it's unlikely to stay around for more than a day or two. However we don't really hate anyone outright nor do we have any real vendettas. Most factions are beneath our notice, and if you get caught sleeping out in Stygia while we hunt it's your own fault, really.
