In the homeland of the neutral, the Phoenix flame has been lit. The days of picking sides are over. Good and Evil are two sides of the same thing, so we chose both. Now it's time for a riot.

[edit] Aims

The group exists for fun, fires and mayhem. Ties with other factions will be made, but they'll only be kept as long as our aims are the same. Sometimes deciding who to attack will just be a matter of who's nearest and not on the friendly list if we're bored, or maybe that's what it'll be like quite a lot...

[edit] Faction Requirements

Be either heading for a neutral class, or already be one.

[edit] Groups

Our attack groups are :

Tempestas Ventus (needing more members)

Aqua Regia (operational)

Terra Motus (operational)

And in the future we'll have another group operating (Perustem Ignis) that will cover all times and that will be there to aid whichever attack group it chooses to. The 2 other groups we have are for crafting/repairing and infusing. They currently consist of people that help out when they can, but are to be made into organized groups as soon as possible.

[edit] The Early Days

As the population of the Nexus and the wars inside it began to grow at a faster rate, many of the Humans sided with the Angels and took up arms against the Demons. Some of them began learning the ways of magic with the hope that at some point, there'd be a big enough force to side with the Angels and beat the Demons once and for all, with the ultimate goal of transcending the Nexus with them and helping give birth to a peaceful universe.

Time passed and the Humans tried their best to fight alongside the Angels, with some succeeding and occasionally driving the forces of evil back into Stygia, but the Demon population and the number of wars still increased.

It was around this period when the first conspiracy theories speaking of corrupt Angels started spreading throughout St. Germaine. The theories would often speak of a rank of Angels that fell from Paradise, got addicted to power and greed, then formed pacts with Demonic factions. Some of the theories proposed that the Angels were simply having one final rebellion before joining Paradise again and defeating the Demons for the last time, then moving on into a new universe of peace. Others spoke of Angels so hopelessly addicted to the illusory nature and energy of the Nexus that they had conspired with the highest ranked Demons to maintain a continuous cycle of war and bloodshed within St. Germaine. The final group of theories contained Angels corrupted to such a degree that they had fully turned against Paradise and had pledged allegiance to the Demons, with the goal of birthing a universe of Hell.

It was amid the confusion and chaos that these theories had created within the Nexus that the first Elementalists arrived. The legends spoke of a group of Elementalists from beyond the Nexus surfacing in Northcamp and handing a book containing some of the most ancient and powerful Elemental magic to one of the towns Hermits.

The Hermit was said to have spent the remaining years of his life learning the magic that the book contained, and then finally teaching a young occultist all that he knew. This occultist then started teaching a select few Humans the magic that he'd learnt, and from these Humans the first organized faction of Elementalists appeared. After spending years honing their skills on the outer edges of the Nexus, a time arrived when the group decided to step back onto the mainland calling themselves The Flame, and aimed to protect the Humans from the factions of Demons and the corrupt Angels, should they exist, with the sole purpose of allowing the Humans to fight for their universal right to have free will.

After fighting off several factions of Demons, a handful of Elementalists decided to train a local group of occultists the magic that they knew, in the hope of creating more of their kind to aid them in their battles. A short while after, a group of Sorcerers appeared in the area calling themselves The Phoenix. Word spread around the area that these Sorcerers were ready to join the cause of the Elementalists, and use the magic that they'd learnt to help bring balance and harmony back into the Nexus.

Some Demonic factions eventually united in battling against the Sorcerers, and the group almost defeated, scattered and split up, but when a High Elemental eventually visited the stronghold of The Phoenix and left them a book containing the final keys to unlocking the magic that they'd being learning, the Sorcerers regrouped and set out on the final path towards the dimensions of Elementalist magic.

[edit] Present Day

The Phoenix have finally arrived back in their homeland, Purgatorio. Good memories of Northcamp and Poco Maquez will remain for us, and now the mayhem in the void begins.

[edit] Faction Notes

[edit] June 2006

After setting up a stronghold in Northcamp, The Phoenix started growing in size, but Northcamp itself was a warzone, and various members revolted after plans to stay in the area seemed increasingly like a suicide mission. A small group eventually decided to leave the area and head south, which later resulted in the faction stronghold in Northcamp being removed and a new one being set up in Poco Maquez.

A day or three after arriving in Poco, some of the faction members joined a party that CHAOS CHAOS CHAOS had organized in the local library. Madness soon ensued, and after some partying, vandalism and many good tunes from Balthazar the cats sound system, a few poor souls got in the way a little bit too much, and found themselves having to respawn elsewhere in the Nexus.

Finally, on the 30th, The Phoenix attacked the stronghold of Invisible Danger along with some -Avengers members, and got a few kills in with their first assault.

Around this time, the faction became open to all neutrals.

[edit] July 2006

After hitting Invisible Danger again with Demons Next Door and sending more of them to their deaths, The Phoenix stopped attacking them, and decided to look elsewhere. Plans were being hatched, and some of the Sorcerers and Myrmidons of The Phoenix began to take on a dark presence not previously seen..

And the dark presence reveals itself! The Alliance of St. Germaine are visited, and instead of the wine that was promised (someone heard voices in their head promising wine, and it sounded good.) we ended up having to settle for the faction standard. :(

(If you're bragging in your faction description about the booze that you have, we will probably be visiting you, so you should keep some of it where we can see it!)

A short while after clearing out our first targeted stronghold, the Juice Crew Allstars were hit. We had no personal reasons for this, but it was about time we proved we were neutral, so we found an evil target to hit for a change. After killing most of the Demons and evil Humans inside, a lull arrived as we waited for reinforcements, but when they eventually showed up, the remaining few were killed and our second faction standard was taken.

Towards the end of the month, The Phoenix removed the Poco Maquez stronghold and finally moved back to the place where their ancestors had been born, Purgatorio. HOME! The neutral Spirits issued orders to The Phoenix, telling them to 'kick some life into the place', and we hope to be carrying those orders out fully, as the void mists glow in the distance.

After setting up a stronghold in the Forgotten city and finding it a bit too quiet for the time being, a relocation was made on the last day of July into The Damned Village.

[edit] August 2006

Here referred to as the long month of madness...

After finding out that the Axis of Evil had set up base in Northcamp, we decided to pay some of them a visit, along with our close friends Balance and some members of the RRF. Basically, any excuse to go back to Northcamp and we'll be ther.....erm, after the Axis looked like a threat to the stability of Northcamp, we made the decision to go back there, and after some time had passed, the Citadel Station Redshirts and The Decepticons found themselves temporarily homeless.

On the 9th, the Terra Motus attack group went out for the first time, and came back with Tetragrammaton's standard. The previously darkened void mists to the north of The Damned Village were reported to have started glowing as the group returned to the stronghold, leading to rumours within the faction that the group is aided by some of the neutral spirits of the plane.

14th August - The Phoenix attended the big-uber battle of annoyance. When Xyu was asked what he thought of Ajax from Acta Sanctorum after the battle, he replied with : "No fucking comment".

The next day, OS decided to pinch our stronghold, and Phoenix members ended up out on the streets, which was repeated on the 18th when they decided to hit us again. In between this though, Aqua Regia launched it's first raid against the Warseers, and after some killing and alcohol stealing, someone ganked their flag from them. We don't think they were happy about this, but at least we got ourselves some booze. A couple more crates would've been nice, but we settled for what we could find.

Oh, we also allied with ¬_¬ because the faction name/symbol is cool.

The Phoenix took part in a raid with Balance, The Wild Hunt and Knights of Arcadia on the 22nd, against OS. Together we ended up killing a decent number of them, and got a little revenge for the hits they'd done on us. During this part of the month however, we got hit a couple more times by OS. We did manage to survive one attack in the end though, due to help from Knights of Arcadia and Balance, after joining a Marrakun alliance aimed at reducing the effectiveness of the OS raids each one of us had seen numerous times on our strongholds.

On the 24th, Aqua Regia hit the faction named 13, and brought some much needed craziness to their stronghold, and some killings.

30th : Terra Motus hit Channel 4 News Team, and Xyu forgot to tell them that they couldn't take the flag due to him making an agreement weeks before with a C4NT member. We said we'd not hit them but we did. At least they kept the stronghold though. Terra's leader Zarkin delivered a fitting speech in their forums a little while later, which could rank among the best accounts of a situation ever written : http://ch4.proboards47.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=channel4&thread=1156906847

31st : Aqua Regia hit the Blood Hawk Brigade, and ran into problems when it was discovered by the few that turned up that most of the strike team had decided to stay in bed with hangovers. Their next target will be sure to face some fitting revenge..

To cap the long month of madness off, (and probably one of the longest monthly entries that these notes will ever have.) we hit level 10 for the first time, and managed to hold it.

[edit] September 2006

To start the month off we moved back into the Forgotten City, after OS vacated the place for Stygia.

....then moved back into Marrakun! Xyu was regularly having empty beer cans and fists thrown at his head by angry Damned Library fans, so it was time to re-enter the village.

8th : We decided to visit MFD. After breaking the ward down and getting them down to their last members, the Shiney/Pirates turned up, then we realized they were allied with them...

19th : We turned up at the NRA Nutjobs stronghold to find the ward down and OS attacking at the same time. We managed to kill some of them but by the end they still had many defenders, and the faction was kept in mind until a later date..

24th : Revenge of the Blessed. We cleared the Children of the Lightbulbs stronghold out, but before we could get the flag, Brian Blessed, a Seraph that we'd killed only minutes ago, turned back up and started killing some of us, then others turned up and we didn't manage to take the place out. One of the closest raids ever, surely.

26th : Aqua Regia raided The Old Kingdom, and found that most of their members had ran off?! Deserted Kingdom more like. Stay and fight next time, please.

30th : Revenge of The Phoenix, the hour of Klanty. So we raided them again, and got them down to 2 people left after using our turns, when Klanty from the RRF came in and killed them both, which enabled us to get the standard, and end the month on a high. If more unaligned factions had people like Klanty, the Nexus would be a great place for us. Hail Klanty!

[edit] October 2006

1st month under the Leadership of diablos

19th: Joint raid on the Blood Hawk Brigade with Balance, ¬_¬, and the Demons Next Door. Feeling threatened the Chicken Hawks revoked their stronghold.

23rd: Blood Hawks ask for treaty with the members of Pax Marrakun, The phoenix is pleased with the terms of the Truce as it ensures it's allies of protection from Blood Hawk hostility.

26th: Joint raid on The Claw with Balance, and the Knights of Arcadia. The Phoenix was able to assist in returning the Flags of its allies to them. The Claw asks for a period of non-agression between it and the members of Pax Marrkaun, and the Phoenix accepted.

Our Stronghold was taken down by the Pirates of R'yleh, in response the Phoenix joined with Acta Sanctorum, the CDF and The Faothful in destroying the Pirate Stronghold and returning our standard. One of the most exciting raids in Phoenix history.

Terra Motus decided to visit the Milk Marketing board for some taste tests. The Milk Marketing board tried to give them spoiled milk and the members of Terra Motus burned the stronghold to the ground and returned home with their standard.

With diablos busy with faction politics and planning Aqua Regia was without a leader for most of the month. However this has been addressed and the new leader for Aqua Regia is Grozart!!
