GRAAAAGH! We are The Shining Ones, one of the most famous zombie groups from the game Urban Dead.

From the smoking ruins of Another Place, a band of zombies were given a new life to play our part in the cosmic struggle that is Nexus War. Our dedication to our principles didn't change, but our numbers and abilities grew beyond measure. Now it's party time on a scale never seen before. From Urban roots to Nexal glory, we have stood for courage, evil, honour in combat, riotous behaviour and good times for all but our enemies. Ladies and Gentlemen, The Shining Ones.

Many years ago a great conflict ripped through the cursed city of Malton. The dead had arisen to fight the living, and blood ran in the streets. The greatest of the undead leaders, a twistedly evil and malignantly charismatic corpse named Xyu arose as warlord. He lead many of the dead on a rampage of unparalleled savagery from mall to mall leaving naught but broken hope and burning rubble in their wake. The humans at last defeated this great army at the pit named Caiger by using ancient dark magics, spawning constructs without souls and shadows to maintain their defenses. Xyu and the hardiest of the horde vowed there and then before the hated gates of Caiger to reform and continue their great work. Cloaked in malice and hate they embarked on a horrid orgy of death and destruction. The Shining Ones quickly became a terror to the living and a curse upon mankind. They became the shine in the eyes of the dark gods and this shine surrounded their horrid animate corpses, the unholy light branding them as a shining example to the other undead and as the last thing their enemies ever saw...

Now the scarred and broken souls of these dark champions have found their way to Saint Germaine. Led by the seven of the most putrid and malevolent souls ever to tread Malton's corpse-strewn streets, the horde has renewed its assault upon humanity and all those who do not bask in the shine of their nameless dark gods. Woe upon all those whom the dark powers do not shine upon. Woe upon all those who would deny The Shining Ones. Woe upon all those who cross their path.
