Effect(s)
  • Allows character to write scrolls from learned spells

You are capable of scribing spells that you know to paper or scroll. You are then able to cast the spells directly from the scroll.

This skill allows the sorcerer to write spells he knows down for later casting. While all spellcasters can cast spells directly from scrolls, they do so at a cost of Magic Points near equal to that of the spell. Spells that the sorcerer has transcribed may be cast cheaply (1 Magic Point), though the Magic Point cost of transcribing the scroll is very high. The ability to cast from a scroll for only 1 Magic Point applies only to scrolls the sorcerer has himself transcribed.

The MP cost for transcribing a scroll is double the cost that it would take to cast the spell from memory. It also has an AP cost of 5.

Note: The AP cost for casting the transcribed spell is 1 for most spells, and 3 for AoE spells.

The spell was rare. Very rare. It had cost a veritable fortune to purchase from the scavengers. It looked so simple, so fragile - a single piece of rolled vellum, but it contained within it the forces to bend the very nexus itself to his will.

The sorcerer cradled the scroll to his chest and raced home through the streets. Yes, he thought, this spell is valuable. This spell is rare. But give me time with it. Time to study it. Time to learn it. Then, I can share its secrets. Share them with my fellow spellcasters. And then, then, I will not envy the next enemy that walks in our door.
