Although sometimes used synonymously with morality, a characters alignment depends on their class.

The goals and values of each alignment are set by the Elder Powers, they can be summarized into three key alignments.

[edit] Angelic

Angels are bound to be of good morality. Falling from grace will result in the good elder powers denying the angel their powers. In game terms, this means that an Angel must always maintain a morality of 20 or higher or else they will lose access to all angelic skills they have. A mortal may align themselves with the good angels by ascending into either a Paladin or Shepherd. Doing this allows the character to seek their strength and magic from the powers that they serve.

[edit] Unaligned

Humans by their very nature are not bound to any morality. They have the power of free will and may choose for themselves their own morals. A mortal who chooses to transcend into an unaligned class such as Sorcerer or Myrmidon will gain their strength from research and training, and gaining a better understanding of the Nexus itself. An Eternal Soldier will gain his strength from self-reliance, whereas a Lich will gain his mastery over death from studying the Lore of Haldon.

[edit] Demonic

Demons are beings who have been twisted and corrupted by various immoral acts and desires. Some, such as most Defilers, are cursed souls who have sold their soul for personal gain. Whereas others, like most Pariahs may just simply enjoy murder, havoc, and mayhem. Demons are evil by their nature and gain their power from the evil Elder Powers that they serve. Should a demon turn his back on his master, he will be denied all his demonic powers. In game terms, this means that a demon must maintain a morality of -20 or lower, otherwise, they lose access to all demonic skills they have until they regain their evil morality.
