Its me, Brickman. Yeah, you already know who I am, so I'll skip all that.

I've been making contributions to the skill vignette thing. So far I've done Day Resistance, Enchant Armor, Fly, Improved Critical, The Stepping of the World Gate, Greater Smite, Eye of Clockwork Precision, Bloodlust and Hand to Hand Combat. I welcome all of you to make your own; if you want to start the template is

your story goes here to the right of that vertical line

placed right before the skillbox code (I can't find the code for a "codebox" which won't try to format it, so just hit the edit button to see what I did).

Feel free to comment about my stories and/or tell me how to make a codebox on my talk page.

edit: I had to cut two stories due to new length limits. Since there's no length limit here, you get to read the whole things:

None of the buildings looked safe, but John didn't really have that much of a choice, he had to find somewhere to rest before his legs gave out under him. He picked an old warehouse, figuring he could hide pretty well there. He spotted a pile of crates which looked like a good spot, but as he approached he saw it was already occupied and as he stepped towards it a creature leapt out.

The beast looked like an almost skeletal-wolf, skin pulled impossibly tight over its bones. It clearly was no ordinary beast, however, as its eyes glowed an unnatural green and it moved far too fast for something so clearly starved. John racked his brain before seizing on what it was--a Revenant, a beast he had heard stories about. He had overheard that they were harmed by the daylight and could not venture outside without being burned. He knew he could not defeat the thing, so he bolted for the door, hoping to escape before it caught him. It was faster than John, but with his head start he made it to the door and raced out, blood pumping through his veins. He rushed across the street and tried the door to the nearest other building, but it was locked. But he should be safe, he thought, since he was outside. That was what he was thinking as it leapt into his back and knocked him to the ground. The beast had not stopped at the door as he had hoped, though it had hesitated. The light hurt it, clearly, but not as much as in the stories John had heard. As he left his body and floated into the Void, he wondered if the stories he had heard had been tall tales or if this Revenant was simply stronger than the ones the storytellers had met.

294 words for day resistance--see why I didn't bother trying to cut it until it fit the 200 word limit?

Archon swung at the elusive figure, but by the time his sword had reached its destination the Dark Oppressor was no longer there. He swung again, but the Demon danced around his sword. He swung a third time, but the Demon was behind him in the blink of an eye and he slashed at air.

"Having fun, Angel?" it cackled. "This is my domain, you can't hope to harm me here." He ducked under a wild swing and laughed. "I haven't even started fighting back yet and already you're wearing yourself out. Now how do I want to kill you. . . I could leave you writhing around with a crippling curse and a fatal poison eating away at you at the same time, or maybe steal your soul inside a crystal, or I could just. . ." Archon was no longer listening. He knew he couldn't keep attacking blindly, but this beast moved like he had never seen, empowered by this foul place. He had to strike true or he would perish. He focused, and his vision seemed to change. . . the Demon moved slower, but so did he. He watched for what seemed to him a few seconds but to the Demon was perhaps not one before lashing out, but this time, as the demon bolted to the right, so did his sword, and his blade connected with the Oppressor. He swung again at the startled Demon, again adjusting his swing as the beast moved, and after two more blows the fearsome Oppressor laid slain at his feet.

Didn't even bother counting words for eye of clockwork precision--I just know its longer than the ones that just barely passed by several lines.
