I'm intending to make Odd Starter a Level 30 Mortal. This will be difficult.

The amount of CPs required to completely buy out each separate Tree are as follows:

Assuming no CP from badges, we have 555 CP to spend, and 790 CP of skills to spend it on. This means that, while most of the trees can be bought easily, several will require some budgeting - Ranged Combat and Repair Item are the main trees. In a lot of ways, this is alright - In theory it should suffice to only take one Ranged Combat and only several of the Repair Item Trees, assuming I even want to deal with Ranged Combat.

One good reason to take Ranged Combat may be the high damage per attack - Once I start reaching the point where I'm effectively at tier-3 XP rates, I'm going to need something that can punch through tier-3 armor, and the ol' shottie may be about the only thing at my disposal that has that ability, since I won't be able to cast spells at all. Thus, may need to prioritise Long Arms once I'm nearing tier-3...

[edit] Current game-plan

Odd Starter has mostly been using Healing as his XP cash-cow, and I suspect that this is unsustainable in the long-term. At the moment, it's looking worthwhile to begin seriously diversifying the possible XP sources that Odd can utilise. At the moment, Lockpicking and Engineering are looking like useful short-term acquisitions, as either can be taken with the next CP gain. It's either that or begin working on either a Combat Tree or a Repair Item branch.

Today I was lucky enough to finally find a couple of exploration badges that I'd been desperately trying to find. This meant I was able to just eke out enough XP to grab a tier-1 skill. So, now I have Ranged Combat, a good few levels before I was expecting it...

Repairing, it seems, is an excellent way of gaining XP if you're the kind of person that gets killed a lot. I suspect that at least a good third of my XP to level 12 was conjured up from crafting.

I'm also noting, though, that I'm rather short (so to speak) on any Long Arms. My current weapon of choice has suddenly become the Pistol, because ammo for that is damn easy to find. Thus, I decided to short-circuit my current Skill choices, and build up the Small Arms tree first. I will still need to grab Long Arms at some point, but there's plenty of Tier-2s with no armor around, so Short Arms will still do some impressive damage to them.
